1.) Rolling out…the red carpet on a brand new website and blog that I’m involved with called PimpStitch.com. If you like to embroider or sew, this is the new source for cute patterns coming this summer. From now until the launch their blog will have interviews with the designers(myself included), free pattern giveaways, contests and more. Bookmark it now!!! Plllleeeeeaasse?
here is a preview of some of what I am bringing to the table:
365 - Day 126

2.) Rolling out…of town. Me and the clan are heading down to Southern California tonight. My friend with gall-bladder cancer(the one chippy chip was named for) did pass away last week and the funeral is this weekend. Plus, I have a brand new baby niece to go snuggle. So all orders will be filled Monday when I get home.

Baz Biz/Maker Faire 2008 Wrap-up - Day 1

I am back! Back at the old homestead after a long and quite delightful weekend in San Mateo. Today, I find myself feeling like a bag of rocks, literally dragging my ass around the house today. But I don’t regret it, girl’s weekend at Baz Biz kicked ass.

This was my first major show, so I was super nervous all week leading up to it. I kept reminding myself of how much fun I was going to have with my Sac Craft Mafia sistas and that there was nothing to really be nervous about…but I was totally scared.
Missy and I carpooled out Saturday morning at 6am! (we actually left Sacramento at 7…had to make the Starbucks pit-stop) Which meant I was up at 4:45am to be ready. I don’t think I have been up at that time of day since I was UP at that time…you know, still awake, not waking up!
We got to the San Mateo Fairgrounds at 8:15am and got all checked in, unloaded and set up our tables. Lauren, Amy and Sophia got there at the same time and we all had table right next to each other. HOT.
I was unloading my table when I turned around and noticed that I was sitting back to back with [link]CATHY OF CALIFORNIA! Holy fangirl moment! Hopefully she was only mildly annoyed by my gushing over her! She gave me popcorn. I like her very much.
My other SCM pal Kaytea (or Katie in real life) was across the aisle. We shared our Roman Emporer thumbs up or thumbs down after we had lookers at our tables…made me laugh.
There were so many amazing vendors that I got to meet. Lynn Li of Red Sheep was one the first I met and we hit it right off. She took “breaks” with me and Missy a few times and we all laughed our booties off. Her yarn is amazing.
I also met the wonderful hubby and wife team over at the Woddy Miller booth. All us SCM girls thought he had the best name ever…we(mostly me) shout “Woody Miller” really loud whenever he passed by. His wife Jessica asked me to whip up a teeny owl for her to give to Woddy for thier 5th anniversary. We traded for some awesome magnets with is art on them. If you guys stumble on this post Woody or Jessica…my kid fell in love. Can’t wait for the children’s books. You have a fan!
At the end of the looooong day, all of us SCM gals took our wild and crazy butts to BJ’s *giggle* to get “our drink on” since we were away from kids, men and responsibilty…we split ONE pitcher of beer. HAHA. We are lame.
Later we went back to the hotel, giggled for a few hours and went to sleep…just like twelve year olds at a slumber party…not wild, wooly and free thirty-somethings. Lame Lame. But, I’ll tell you a secret…most fun ever. I haven’t laughed that hard in years.
Tomorrow…I’ll post about day 2.
Also lame of me…brought my camera…not one shot. HAHAHA. I had to swipe my photos from my Sac sista compadres.

I wish I could have been there. She was born in Southern California and I’m stuck up here in Nor Cal. After Baz Biz, I think I’m going to have to make a trip down just to snuggle this little angel! Gorgeous, ain’t she?

Update from last week (sorry I missed it):
We did tons. We layed sod and we extended the wall of our planter bed from 8′ to 22′. We also bought some plants; a hydrangea, fuschia, jasmine and another vine that I cannot remember the name of…haha.
Also eventful from last week, I got my first sprout.

This week we have seedlings! My little zinnia and poppy babies have burst forth from thier seeds into full-fledged sprouts!
seedlings!
Jackson is very nurturing of our “baby flowers” and looks on very curiously , but never touches them. It’s sweet.
We also got our SMUD free trees! If you live in Sacramento County, SMUD will give you free shade trees. We got two! We got a Chinese Pistache and an Eastern Redbud. We planted the Pistache but I don’t have pictures. We plant the Redbud this weekend.
I also planted my potted plants from last week and added two trellises for the vines. I’ll have more picture next week.

Until then…

and maybe you guys would be excited to see it. Recently I whipped out my old trusty sewing machine.
365 - Day 106
I am planning to translate some of my patterns to sewing patterns and dolls to sell. I am also planning on translating some of my patterns to embroidery patterns this summer. (how many times can I say pattern in one sentence!)
Crocheting just takes me a long time now with little Jackson. It would also be super nice to make something new. I love crochet, don’t get me wrong, but it’s like eating spaghetti every night for a couple of years. I’m ready for a salad. LOL
I am super interested in hearing from you guys. Do you like the idea of my designs in new mediums?

Give a Hoot…

New pattern day!!!

I am especially attached to this one…I love it. Jackson is fully obsessed with the little “ow”. I can’t keep track of it. In fact, he’s curled up in bed with the little guy tightly in his fist. I wouldn’t dream of taking it back, but I like it too…I want him to sit on my desk and make me smile. Oh well, pictures will have to do.

It works up in a jiffy and as cute as can be! Give a hoot and give a “hoot hoot” to someone special this spring.
This pattern is only $1.00 until May 1st, 2008. At that time it will be bundled into a collection of like sized dolls.
I am also making a kit out of this pattern to sell at Baz Biz. I plan to have 3 different kits…the frog, this owl and a chipmunk. Cute-osity!
I hope you guys like this little guy! He looks so cute sitting in my new hydrangea bush, huh?
